Couple compatibility matrix

The compatibility matrix is derived by summing your base points — showing not a simplistic 'are you compatible or not', but what specifically emerges between the two of you: what brought you together, where the bond flows effortlessly, and what causes friction.

Compatibility Matrix: How It Works

What Is the Compatibility Matrix by Birth Dates

The Compatibility Matrix is a third chart born from two personal matrices. You enter two birth dates — of romantic partners, friends, colleagues, a parent and child, or any other pair — and get a shared octagram of 22 Arcana. Rather than issuing a verdict on whether you are "meant for each other or not," it shows what actually forms between two people: what the bond is built around, where it holds together naturally, and where it repeatedly stumbles.

The method is symbolic. It is a way to ask yourself and your partner more precise questions about your relationship, not a scientifically proven forecast, so decisions about your relationship always remain yours.

How the Compatibility Matrix Is Calculated

For each person, three base points are taken separately: A is the day of birth, B is the month, and C is the sum of the year's digits reduced to a number from 1 to 22. Then the two people's points are added pairwise: A1 + A2, B1 + B2, C1 + C2. If a sum exceeds 22, its digits are added together again. From these three combined points, a shared octagram is built following the exact same structure as a personal one: the bottom point D is the sum of A, B, and C, and the center E is the sum of A, B, C, and D.

Example. The first person was born on 15.07.1991 (A = 15, B = 7, C = 20), the second on 03.12.1994 (A = 3, B = 12, C = 5). Combined points: A = 15 + 3 = 18, B = 7 + 12 = 19, C = 20 + 5 = 25 → 2 + 5 = 7. Bottom point D = 18 + 19 + 7 = 44 → 4 + 4 = 8, center E = 18 + 19 + 7 + 8 = 52 → 5 + 2 = 7. The result does not depend on who is entered first: the chart is symmetrical.

What the Compatibility Percentage Means

In the classical method, there is no canonical percentage formula. Therefore, the percentage on VIDOMO is our own scale built on top of the couple's shared points, and we are transparent about how it works. It is calculated from four components: "Attraction" (30%) — how much the partners recognize themselves in each other; "Shared Purpose" (30%) — whether the relationship leads where each person was heading on their own; "Daily Life" (20%) — similarity of the material line: money, home, and everyday pace; and "Ease in Conflicts" (20%) — whether one partner's challenging points clash with the other's core points.

The distance between Arcana is measured around a 22-position circle: identical Arcana are a full match, while opposite ones score zero. Because of this, the total is never 0% or 100%, and in practice falls between 30% and 95%. For the example above, the calculator shows 56% ("Working Match"): attraction 36, daily life 75, shared purpose 50, ease in conflicts 77. Such a pair is not "bad" — they simply need to agree more explicitly on shared goals.

How to Read the Result: Center, Love, Money, and Karmic Points

The couple's center is the main theme around which the bond forms: what holds you together. The Love Point shows how intimacy and affection manifest in this relationship, the Money Point shows how the couple handles resources and daily life, and the bottom point D describes the shared task where the relationship is most often tested.

Calculated separately is the couple's Karmic Tail — three Arcana describing a repeating pattern that plays out until noticed. Every Arcanum has a resourceful and a shadow side, so a shadow aspect in your relationship is not a verdict, but a cue for where it is best to talk through expectations out loud.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Compatibility Matrix calculation free?
Yes. The calculation is free and requires no registration. Only additional formats — full readings and questions to the Interpreter — are paid; their terms are listed on the services page.
Is the time of birth needed for the Compatibility Matrix?
No. The 22 Arcana method uses only the day, month, and year of birth of each partner.
Why is the compatibility percentage never 100%?
The percentage is composed of four scales, and the distance between Arcana is measured around a 22-position circle. No chart matches in everything at once, and "100%" would promise something that doesn't exist in real life. Likewise, 0% would be a verdict that the Matrix cannot give.
Can compatibility be calculated for people who aren't romantic partners?
Yes. The chart works for any pair of people: romantic partners, friends, colleagues, siblings, or parents and children. For an adult-and-child pair, it is also helpful to check the Child Matrix.
Does the result depend on who is entered first?
No. Every part of the calculation is symmetrical, so swapping the two birth dates produces the exact same score and shared chart.
Does a low percentage mean we shouldn't be together?
No. It highlights where the two of you differ or get caught on the same triggers, and where clearer communication is needed. You make the decisions about your relationship, not the chart.
Will the Compatibility Matrix show our wedding date?
No. It is impossible to calculate the date of an event from birth dates; we honestly break down what can and cannot be evaluated in our dedicated article on marriage dates.
